After years in Munich King Ludwig II created
himself a fast world-famous paradise in the remote Graswangtal. Castle Linderhof
surpasses the famous examples like the Petit Trianon in Versailles in its
splendor, they stimulated the king to the construction of this castle.
A walk in the park is almost obligatory with regard to art and nature:
Landscape gardener Carl of Effner created here one of the most important parks
of the 19th century within the years 1870 - 1880. Around the castle are laying
garden rooms in baroque style and terraces and cascade plants orientated on the
Italian renaissance. The following landscape garden leads up to the woods of the
bunting mountains. Highlights in the castle grounds are the blue grotto, the
Moorish kiosk, the Moroccan house as well as the lonesome Hundinghütte.
